NBA 2K21 has now launched Next-Gen Patch Update 9, or version 1.011 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and should now be available on two game consoles. We do not have a complete 2K sideline report and detailed patch notes. The update has only a few minor fixes, the patch notes for the following update version 1.011 are posted on Twitter:
WNBA court floor and dornas have been updated for the new season
Rookieville has been modified to make it easier for new players to enter the city, and now you can use the CPU opponent’s 1v1 court to ensure that there is always an opponent
When playing games in The Rec, AI-generated players will now have the appropriate height according to their position.
Some of this update is specific to the city, and the whole thing is relatively small at the beginning, it may not be released to the current generation anytime soon. The download size of PS5 content is currently unknown, but we know that the update for Xbox Series X|S is only 846mb.
Although this small update of NBA 2K21 is of little significance to players who still enjoy the title, it may be an important sign of the future development of NBA 2K22. As of now, NBA 2K22 is expected to be launched in early September. The adjustments made in this update look like 2K may have made minor adjustments. They have not decided to resolve it until now, probably because they are planned changes to NBA 2K22. At this point, the development team may go all out to help NBA 2K22, except for the small changes they haven’t fully completed, NBA 2K21 leaves little. At this point, any major potential changes in NBA 2K21 are almost guaranteed to be saved as changes or new features in NBA 2K22.
